The Girty Brothers,
Ohio Country, June 1782

Simon Girty and his younger brothers James and George were white renegades who fought with the Delaware, Shawnee and Wyandot Indians attacking the American frontier along the Ohio River during the American Revolution. After helping the Indians defeat Col. Crawford’s army at the Battle of Upper Sandusky in June 1782, the Girtys re-united at Wapatomika in the Ohio Country before joining Alexander McKee of the British Indian Department, Butler’s Rangers, and hundreds of warriors in attacking the Virginians at Blue Licks, Kentucky in August, and Fort Henry at Wheeling in September 1782.
